What happens next if you registered for the Private Health Insurance Scheme
There seems to be a little confusion !!
All of you that have applied to be included on the new scheme should have taken, or sent, two copies of the application form, either personally to the appropriate office, or by post. You should have receievd one copy (stamped) back. This copy is for your records and as a receipt for their copy.
You should then, after some days or weeks, receive a three page letter from Valencia, accepting you onto the new scheme. The first two pages of this letter just describe the rules and regulations of the scheme. The third page instructs that you should take the letter to your local health centre, where a new SIP will be issued.
In fact, I have just done this, this morning. As I suspected, the health centre knew nothing about it at all, but after some enquiries they have in fact issued me with a new temporary card (3 months), and told me that I should receieve the permanent card from Valencia, in due course. They also said that if the new permanent card did not arrive before the expiry of the temporary card, then I should again visit the health centre for them to sort the matter out (ha ha). That's all I know !!!!!!
