Seven thousand people signed the Petition to Save Cala Mosca, the last parcel of land with a view of the Mediterranean Sea. All would like a landscaped park, similar to the Park of Nations in Torrevieja. All wanted to Save our Coastline, Save Cala Mosca.
7,000 people who believe that the land should be landscaped to keep the view of the Mediterranean Sea.
7,000 people who have had enough of the corruption by the Orihuela City Town Hall Councillors who approved this project to build 1,550 properties.
7,000 people who want change and we want it NOW!!
We need the petition to make the officials take notice and listen to the voice of the people who live in Orihuela Costa and the visitors / tourists who all enjoy the view.
WE DO NOT WANT MORE HOUSES BUILT IN ORIHUELA COSTA!! Too many properties are lying empty, either not sold or repossessed by the banks.
Orihuela Costa is fast becoming a 'ghost' town, with empty commercial units and empty houses.
The developer, Gomendio intends to build 1,550 properties on this last piece of coastline, which, at this time last year was still protected and was not to be developed so close to the edge of the coastline, within the 500 meter boundary.
Gomendio continues to sell these unbuilt properties to overseas purchasers, who are unaware of the problems that may arise if they buy on proteced land and that may not have full planning consent from the Councillor of the Coast in Madrid, especially in these times of recession, when so many properties are not sold that have been lying empty for years. The infrastructure has not been put in place by the local Town Hall to accommodate these additional properties, so will cause more problems to Orihuela Costa.
